13 day Brahmmotsaam in Chithirai (April-May), Vaikasi Visakam (May-June), Aadipooram (July-August), Aadi Velli (July-August). Mahasivarathri (February-March), Annabishekam, Tirukarthikai (November-December), Thai Poosam (January-February), Skanda Sashti in Aipasi (October-November), Vinayaka Chaturthi and Navarathri in Purattasi (September-October) are the festivals celebrated in the temple.

Sithirai Thiruvizha

On the monthy of sithrai 13days will be celebrate as sithirai thiruvizha.During this event the chief priest of this temple will hoist the holy flag on the KodiMaram (Flag post) of the temple. This event declares the long event open. The flag will stay on the flag post until the end of the festival. The swamy sangameswarar will come to see their citizens in a well decorated chariot which is a huge and Magnificent wooden structure. Thousands of peoples will gather at the streets of Madurai to pull the chariot and to witness the celebration.

Navarathri Vijayadasami Utsavam

On the Navarathiri 9 days will be celebrate very grantly.make the special alangram to mother akilandeswari amman .
